On Saturday, we took Rebecca to her first trip to Disneyland. It was actually my first trip to Disneyland as well, although I've spent quite a bit of time in Disney World. It was a perfect day! Warm during the day, but not too hot, and just a bit chilly in the evening. The first ride we rode was It's A Small World. Rebecca was a bit awestruck! Then we stood in line for an absolute eternity so that Rebecca could meet Minnie Mouse and tour her mouse house. I was afraid that we very well might stand in line all that time and then Rebecca would be afraid of her, but she was not. In fact, she even kissed Minnie on her mouse nose. After that, however, Rebecca was spent and needed a nap. Unfortunately, she slept through the whole parade. I videoed it for her though, and she has enjoyed watching it on the computer. We also rode the train, a couple of boat rides, a circus train, the Winnie the Pooh ride, the Dumbo airplanes, and the carousel. We even stayed late enough to see the fireworks! By that time, Rebecca was quite sleepy, but she still enjoyed them. She especially liked the shimmery fireworks and would ask, "where the shimmies?" She picked out a stuffed Pooh, which she tried to feed honey at the Pooh ride. After she was asleep, we also got her a bunch of the little poseable Disney figures. They have been her ever-present companions ever since! She carries them all around in a little tote bag. Lord help us if one of them gets lost!
I've got a slide show of pics over there on the right, so you can check out our magical day!
