Fun at the fair

I've been slowly editing pictures from the Paris trip, in between seeing patients and writing their reports, spending time with my family, and general life stuff. That's why the Paris reports have come slowly. I will finish them, but right now Rebecca and I are in Tennessee enjoying an autumn visit with Grammy. In the meantime, I thought I should catch the blog up with some other goings on! It's been a busy few weeks for us, with a lot going on.
We are so happy Julie, Derek, Adelaide, and Lucas are back from New York and living in SoCal again. We've resumed our weekly lunch/shopping/play dates, and it's better than ever! A couple of weeks ago, we enjoyed a night out at the Los Angeles County Fair with the Woltil Family.

The girls enjoyed a lot of rides. On most of the rides, they were accompanied by their daddies (because mama don't play fast rides), although Julie and I did get in on the action for the teacups and carousel. My daughter is a speed demon! She rode a little roller coaster and laughed and kept her hands in the air the whole time! On the spinning teacups, she kept yelling at me to "spin it harder, mama!"

After we'd ridden all the rides we wanted, it was time to indulge in some fair food. Pizza, hot dogs, funnel cakes, you name it, it can be consumed (in addition to the food for the suicidal - deep fried Twinkies and chocolate covered bacon). Our girls enjoyed being silly together. this included a fun game in which they counted to 8 (Why 8? We're not sure either) and then shook their heads as fast as possible.

For Rebecca, the night was a complete success because she got to go home with her adored Spiderman. She saw him in a kiosk as soon as we arrived, and Mama and Daddy promised her that we could get him before we left. Periodically throughout the evening, Rebecca reminded us of our promise, and we were true to our word. Spidey is beloved!

It was a fun, but exhausting night!
