Spidergirl

You all may not have realized this, but Rebecca is a Daddy's girl. She's also a mama's girl and a grammy's girl, at certain times. When it comes to idolization, however, Daddy takes the cake. If Daddy likes it, it must be fabulous, wonderful, amazing, and the coolest thing ever.

Several weeks ago, Daddy told Rebecca about how he loved Spiderman when he was a little boy. Youtube provided them with visuals for the character and even several episodes of the cartoon. This theme song is a frequent melody in our house!

Daddy even showed Rebecca pictures of himself dressed as Spiderman for Halloween one year.

As one can imagine, Rebecca is now obsessed with Spiderman. Fortunately, good old Spidey is enjoying renewed interest in the general culture as well as within the Cisneros household, so you can actually see him fairly often on bouncy balls, caps, bandages, pencils, and assorted other goods.

Our girly girl couldn't just want to be Spiderman though, right? So she invented the character of Spidergirl, who is a princess. She imagined this character that she created for herself. Low and behold, there is a Spidergirl costume (although it isn't quite as princessy as Rebecca wanted it to be). A protracted search for one in Rebecca's size yielded no results, so we settled for this cheapy costume in a size 4-6. Rebecca does not care that the chest is cleavage-exposing or that the knee-length skirt comes almost to her ankles. The only thing that matters is that Rebecca has her Spidergirl costume. With it, she scales the walls and fights crime wherever it may be found...all in true princess fashion, of course!
