Springing forward is great for the extra sunlight, but boy is it hard to wake up on time! We've enjoyed a pretty lazy weekend thus far. On Friday, Ramy was off, but I went to Loma Linda to have a mini audit of my file to be sure I have all the credits I need to graduate. I have no more classes left to take - yippee! All I have are a few research units and internship units. I saw the calendar for next year, and Sunday, June 13 will be the day for the hooding/graduation for my department/school. How exciting to actually have a date! After I left Loma Linda, I came back to Chino Hills, and Ramy brought Rebecca over to Panera Bread where we met Julie and Adelaide for lunch and shopping.
Yesterday morning, I slept late and then we went to the Shoppes at Chino Hills to see Nanny Rebecca perform a preview of the songs from The Sound of Music. We'll be going to see the actual performance in Corona this coming weekend. Last night, we chilled at home.
Rebecca hasn't been quite so interested in the potty toward the end of this week. So maybe it was a novelty on Monday and she'll decide to go back to it. She's still interested in the idea of the potty and the big girl panties, but not quite ready to commit to it. Her latest thing is that she has decided being sleepy is a great excuse. If we ask her to pick up her toys, she might reply, "I'm seepy!" and lay down on her chair to attempt to get out of doing it. Of course, it doesn't fly with us, but I have to choke back laughter. Dr. Seuss' ABC Book is her current favorite book. She has much of it memorized, just as I did at her age. We got to the C page the other night, and I read, "Big C, Little C, what begins with C?" And she pointed to the illustration and said, "camel on ceiling!" She's very big into pretend play, especially cooking for us. We get some interesting concoctions; thank goodness it's just plastic food! Peas on hotdogs...corn with eggs...cookies with steak, you name it.
