To celebrate the completion of the internship match process, we had Julie, Derek, and Adelaide over for dinner last night. We were celebrating the fact that both Julie and I were successfully matched to APA-accredited internships that we're excited about and that the whole match process is behind us, as well as the fact that Ramy, Derek, Rebecca, and Adelaide all got us through the nightmarish process. Julie will be going to Pace University in New York City, so the Woltils are getting ready to make a cross-country move. If anyone knows of IT jobs in Manhattan or Brooklyn, let me know so I can pass it on to Julie. Her husband Derek is looking for a job now that they know Julie was matched to Pace.
It was a really nice evening, and it was good for us to get together with the husbands, rather than just gossiping about our fellow colleagues and spending money buying clothes for Addie and Rebecca. Rebecca enjoyed having Addie here to play with. Although we had a few brief moments where Rebecca didn't want to share her toys, she is generally very sweet with Addie. She enjoyed showing Adelaide her Elmo Live and in watching her play with her own toys.
It was a fun night, and hopefully we can do it again soon, before Julie deserts me and becomes a New Yorker!
Look how beautiful Adelaide is! She's just as sweet as she is cute, too.
