Our first week back from vacation was good, although hectic. As I'd mentioned on Monday, Nanny Rebecca's husband Steve has experienced some heart problems. She was off with him this week, frantic and worried sick. Thanks be to God, it seems that although he does have atrial fibrillation, there doesn't appear to be any underlying heart disease. He'll be closely monitored by a cardiologist and will be on medication to keep his heart rate down and protect against the risk of stroke.
Because Nanny Rebecca was taking care of Steve, Ramy and I played the childcare shuffle this week. Luckily Tuesday was Cesar Chavez Day, so his court was dark and he didn't have anything on calendar. I had a really light day on the inpatient unit, but then I got totally slammed at TLC on Wednesday with complicated cases and having to take over my supervisor's group for her. He had Rebecca most of the day and then I came in early so that he could actually get some work done at work. Thursday, I took Rebecca with me to Loma Linda to conduct supervision, and she was perfectly good for me while I was there.
On Friday, we met up with Julie and Adelaide for lunch at California Pizza Kitchen at Victoria Gardens. Then we satisfied our need to shop at Gymboree and Baby Gap. Gap has really outdone themselves this spring with super cute stuff, and the only problem is that they don't sell self-restraint for moms. Fortunately, I'm the self-appointed queen of knowing about sales, coupons, and other ways to get good stuff really cheap. It's unfortunately not a skill I can put on my CV. It was so good to catch up with Julie, and Rebecca was excited to see Addie again. It reminded me, however, that it's going to stink when they move to New York in just a few weeks!
I also found out on Friday that I got my first choices for both my forensic and outpatient rotations for internship with the County. I'll be starting out the year at the Upland Community Counseling clinic, and then I'll be finishing up the year at CONREP in Colton. I'm excited to get started on my final year of my doctoral program. The countdown to graduation on June 13, 2010 is ON!

Ramy helped with the Knights of Columbus Fish Fry last night at church. Then we all chilled at home and watched television and hung out. This morning, we got up and went out for breakfast. Then we went to Brea mall so that I could exchange sizes on a few Janie and Jack things (yes, I had just gone shopping the day before, but there isn't a J&J at Victoria Gardens) and buy some makeup. Rebecca has been running around with a naked hiney all afternoon, because she wanted to pee-pee on the potty. We're getting ready to go to dinner at Lucille's now, and then tomorrow is Palm Sunday.
