Mother's Day

Unfortunately, although we got to have Grammy with us for Easter, she was back in Tennessee for Mother's Day.  Incidentally, the fact that there was a mere 2 weeks between Easter and Mother's Day meant that Mother's Day completely snuck up on me.  I did not get to do Mother's Day cards the way I usually try to do them.  It also meant that I did not get the photo gift for my mother made.  Ooops.  Oh well, she'll like it as a mid-summer gift probably.

We celebrated Mother's Day with Ramy's mother, sisters Theresa and Myrna, and Ed and Jessica.  We all took Grandma out to CPK to celebrate.

Our beautiful niece Jessica was newly home from her trip to Washington, DC, Amish country, and NYC, so we got to hear her stories about her trip.  She loved seeing The Lion King on Broadway.  That's my girl!

Sunday was a perfect Mother's Day for me!  We woke up, I was treated to my gifts, and then we went to early mass.  Rebecca was ecstatic to give me the gifts she had for me for Mother's Day.  On Friday and Saturday, she'd kept asking how long until Mother's Day and exclaiming about how she couldn't wait to give me my gifts.  I got these beautiful flowers (sunflowers - my favorite!), which Rebecca has taken as her responsibility to ensure that they stay alive (tragically, they won't last forever), and she was practically dancing as I opened my presents and artwork she did for me.

Afterwards, we grabbed some Panera bagels for breakfast.  Then we headed out to our friends Madeline and Paul's house.  Initially, Ramy and Rebecca were going to take me to brunch at Il Fornaio, but Maddy invited us to brunch at their house instead, so I chose her yummy brunch and good times with friends over the restaurant (easy choice!).  Rebecca LOVES going to their house, because she gets to hang out with Rachel and Ashley and usually with Maddy's niece Lauren.  Rebecca does not realize that she is the youngest of this group.  They always play dress-up and this time, they spent a lot of time doing a singing/dancing game on the Wii as well.  We don't see the girls from the time we go in until we leave.  It was a beautiful day, and we had a great time catching up with our pals.

On the way home that afternoon, Rebecca fell asleep and slept the rest of the night!
