1. We're in Tennessee. We arrived last Friday and will be going home to Daddy tomorrow. We've been having a lovely time.
2. Unfortunately, Rebecca got sick on Saturday night. She started running a high fever and coughing (so much that it would make her throw up). She was so feverish, I thought it would be with her awhile. True to form, she ran a fever for exactly 24 hours. I think she's on the mend now, although her cough creeps up and now her nose is also congested and has lots of snot. Poor sweet girl. She never admits to feeling bad or being sick, though she just looks so pitiful when she is sick.
3. I've missed my husband! It's nice being "home" but I'll be glad to see his sweet face again. We of course talk every day, but lately our phone calls have been primarily related to when we can meet at the design center to pick out the flooring for the new house, whether I've sent the last batch of required documents to our lender, and which pieces of paper need whose signatures. I'm looking forward to being able to relax in our new house!
4. The next couple of weeks will be devoted to packing and preparing to move. And eating up everything in our freezer and pantry. It could be a couple of weeks of interesting food combinations. Fortunately, we have a lot of frozen hamburger and chicken. I think we have a lot of pasta in the pantry. Maybe no pasta sauce though. We'll see how it goes!
5. Ramy and I both got new cell phones a week or so ago. I got a Droid Incredible 2, and I love it. The only thing I don't love is how quickly the battery runs down. I keep a charger at work so that it will be ready to go so I can text and email through our long meetings. I'm a heavy user of my phone.
6. I accidentally accepted a request to teach a course for the University of Phoenix, when I meant to decline the invitation. I can't change it now! Yikes! I emailed the scheduling people, so hopefully they'll fix it for me.
7. I went to see Bridesmaids with Brenda and Lisa on Monday night. It was hilarious! Completely inappropriate, vulgar, and side-splittingly funny. I actually laughed so hard I snorted in the movie theater. Klassy, huh? We gave it three thumbs-up.
8. The Real Housewives of Orange County has its season finale this coming Sunday. I can't wait. There's going to be a great catfight. I live for that stuff. I'm sad that Oprah is ending. I only watch Oprah about two times a year, but I always felt better knowing she was on the air.
9. My daughter's favorite song is Miley Cyrus' Party in the U.S.A. A little part of me feels panicked that she likes a Miley Cyrus song, but I also know that she doesn't really know who Miley Cyrus is, and she's just so darn cute when she dances to the "nodding my head like 'yeah,' movin' my hips like 'yeah...'" lines. I enable it by playing it for her on repeat.
10. My birthday is tomorrow! Woo hoo!
